There is a popular ski area within 20 minutes, tennis, horseback riding and several well known golf courses within easy driving distance. Santa Fe was the Capital of New Mexico in its early history but has maintained its character and connection to both indigenous and Mexican cultures. It is renowned for its light and is an ideal setting for artists and writers. Next to New York and San Francisco, Santa Fe is the most important center for art and art galleries in the United States, with more than 70 within 15 minutes drive from the home.
